# YorkHost agent sandboxes (ssh yorkhost.sh) > Free, disposable Linux VMs for AI coding agents, opened with one command. No account needed. > Keep one as a regular YorkHost VPS (VPS-2, 3.99 EUR/month) when the work is worth keeping. ## Start - `ssh yorkhost.sh` — opens (or reuses) a trial VM tied to your SSH key and drops you in a shell. Coding agents preinstalled: claude, codex, opencode, cursor-agent, gemini. User `agent`, sudo, Docker. - `ssh yorkhost.sh -- ` — run one command non-interactively (exit status is returned). - `ssh @yorkhost.sh` — reconnect to a given trial. `ssh status@yorkhost.sh` — JSON status. - `ssh claim@yorkhost.sh` — new claim link to keep the trial as a VPS. `ssh destroy@yorkhost.sh` — delete it. - `ssh -T export@yorkhost.sh > sandbox.tar.gz` — download /home/agent as a tar.gz (running trial). - Port forwarding works: `ssh -L 8080:localhost:8080 yorkhost.sh`. scp/sftp work. ## Previews (the VM has no public IP) - Listen on 0.0.0.0 (not 127.0.0.1) on 8080, 3000, 5173, 8000, 4173, 4321, 5000 or 8888. - Public HTTPS URL: `https://-.yorkhost.sh`. - "Nothing is listening on port N" = the app is down or bound to localhost. ## Limits (trial) - Runs for a limited window (60 min anonymous; longer with a YorkHost account), then stops; deleted with its files 24 h after creation unless kept. - Outbound: HTTP/HTTPS, git, SSH, DNS, NTP only. SMTP and other ports are blocked. IPv4 + IPv6. - A few trials per IP and per day; small VM (2 vCPU, ~15 GB disk). Sustained 100 % CPU (mining) stops the trial. ## Keep it as a VPS - Open the claim link printed at creation (or run `ssh claim@yorkhost.sh`), sign in, pay the first invoice. - A VPS is created and `/home/agent` is copied into it. Public IP, no port limits. ## From an account (API / MCP) - MCP server: https://api.yorkhost.fr/client/mcp (OAuth or API key).
